Speaking in Hebrew to a large pack of reporters waiting for him at the airport arrival hall, Grant said: “I had a great experience during the past year and two years as a whole (in England) and I very much want to thank all the people in Israel.

Thais beat Asian champs Iraq in warm up for qualifiers
05/26/08 00:29
Asian Champions Iraq continued their miserable run of form when they were beaten 2-1 by Thailand on Sunday in a warm-up match for next month’s 2010 World Cup qualifiers. The hosts took the lead in the 53rd minute when Teerasil Dangda headed down a cross to Teerathep Winothai, who buried the ball into the roof of the net from close range.

Nakamura vows to repay Japan coach Okada
05/26/08 00:27
Celtic playmaker Shunsuke Nakamura has vowed to help Japan win all their four remaining World Cup qualifiers after admitting "a sense of crisis"—and help ease the pressure on coach Takeshi Okada. Japan, three-time Asian champions, lost to unfancied Bahrain in their last World Cup qualifier on March 26 to put the pressure on Okada, who only took over from Ivica Osim in December. "For me, the season won't end until we have taken all the four matches," Nakamura told reporters as he returned home on Saturday after lifting his third straight Scottish Premier League title.
