McClaren says ailing England has to recapture winning mentality
03/21/07 08:58 With his job on the line, England coach Steve McClaren appealed to his players to regain their winning mentality. McClaren is under pressure to win in Israel on Saturday or face the strong possibility of England failing to qualify for the 2008 European Championship. "We've got players in the squad who can change the game, who can win a game and that's important when you look at the top teams," McClaren said Tuesday when the squad gathered for training. "They have special players who can win them football matches, who step up when its needed and I think that time has come for us." More.

Sevilla in semis after winning resumed Cup tie
03/21/07 07:26 Sevilla secured their place in the last four of the King's Cup on Tuesday after they kept a clean sheet in the remaining 33 minutes of their resumed quarter-final tie against city rivals Real Betis. The original match at the Betis stadium was halted after Sevilla coach Juande Ramos was knocked out by a bottle thrown from the stands shortly after Mali striker Frederic Kanoute gave the visitors a 1-0 aggregate lead. Sevilla, who are level on points with league leaders Barcelona and are in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Cup, had few problems keeping their neighbours at bay in a match which was played behind closed doors at Getafe's stadium in Madrid.
