Kahn apologises for doping control outburst
03/20/07 17:46 Oliver Kahn has apologised for his behaviour during a doping control after Bayern Munich's Champions League victory over Real Madrid. Kahn, the Bayern goalkeeper and captain, and Lucio, the club's Brazilian centre-back, have been summoned to a UEFA disciplinary hearing on Thursday for improper conduct during the control on March 7. Kahn has sent a written apology to UEFA and he explained in an interview published on the Bayern website (www.fcbayern.de) on Tuesday that he lost his temper during the control. More.

Benfica midfielder Armando Petit got the goal with a deflected 30-metre free kick nine minutes from the time. Champions Porto, who suffered a 1-0 defeat at Sporting on Saturday, head the table with 52 points after 22 games and they meet Benfica at Lisbon's Luz Stadium after next weekend's international break. Spectator attacks Lampard after FA Cup tie
03/20/07 07:40 An angry fan raced on to the pitch and threw a punch at Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard after his side beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 in an FA Cup quarter-final replay on Monday. Lampard, who was celebrating with team mates, ducked to miss the punch and the spectator was manhandled to the ground before being led away by security men. "...maybe the security people slept a little bit. They could never believe the guy could come on to the pitch and chase my players. But it was no problem," Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho told reporters. "They (security staff) have to be alert in future. Frank Lampard is ok. He's happy with the victory. 03/19/07 23:25 Champions Chelsea beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 and league leaders Manchester United overcame Middlesbrough with a Ronaldo penalty to book their places in the semi-finals of the FA Cup on Monday. A stunning left-footed goal from Chelsea's Ukraine striker Andriy Shevchenko in the 55th minute was followed seven minutes later by a strike from Shaun Wright-Phillips at White Hart Lane. Spurs pulled a goal back after Ricardo Carvalho brought down Dimitar Berbatov in the area in the 78th minute and Robbie Keane scored from the spot. Manchester United had the lion's share of the attack at Old Trafford but broke through only after Jonathan Woodgate fouled Ronaldo in the 78th minute. More.
